Well, I have been in Hawai'i for 10 days now. I never thought that I could learn so much in just 10 days. So for today I will give 10 things I've learned or experienced, some from my heart and some adventures :) enjoy!
1. My sidekick for the summer. I'm so blessed to be serving with this lovely lady this summer. God put us together for a reason and it's been great to see Him reveal His reason for us to serve together this summer. (i also wanted for those of you who didn't know who Layce is, to see her :))

2. Some new friends :) they are all so amazing, it was so great to get to know there hearts over the days at orientation and i can't wait to get to know them even more this summer! Each of them will be serving at churches through out the Islands of Hawai'i!
3. Pearl Harbor. What an amazing memorial designed to remember the beginning of World War II, the people that lost their lives that day
4. I'm driving a red mini van named Mader. He is a cutie :) I really actually enjoy driving him around the island! it's such a blessing to have a car to get around and who knew i would enjoy a mini van so much!
5. The people of Hawai'i are the most loving, generous people I have ever met. Everyone is so generous. For example, when driving (yes i'm driving in Hawai'i!) when turing at a light, one person goes then the next, everyone takes turns, there is no cutting each other off on the highway like in the metroplex. no slamming on the horn. everyone is just so loving, welcoming, and inviting into their culture. Families in the church are continuing to welcome us with love and taking us to dinner to support us while we are here. I'm so thankful for everything they are doing!
6. God's Love in His creation is so deep. It's the same in His love for us in our hearts. I love seeing that through nature as we explore it on drives, hikes, runs, jet skiis and so many other adventures.

7. Hiking. My new hobby. I love it. We have gone on two big hikes so far and i can't wait to adventure in more! We hiked up Koko Crater which is an inactive volcano. It's a mile and a half hike up a straight steep volcano!
8. The culture. There is so much to learn on the culture of Hawaii. Did you know there are 12 letters in the Hawaiian alphabet? or that they call flip flops slippers? or that all street names are in Hawaiian? or that leis are given at so many events like gradation? I'm enjoying adapting to their culture and learning so much about it!
9. I got so excited when I saw a sea turtle when snorkeling. Like you don't even know. I've never swam right next to one before!
10. Tomorrow is our first day to work at the church. Pre-school starts so we will be helping with that as well as planning for summer fun! I'm excited to be working with these ladies and see what all Dani Beth has planned out for us as well :)
Thank you all for reading this and staying updated with me through out the summer. Continue to keep us in your prayers as we serve Hawai'i Kia. For me, to continue to be bold in my faith and step out, as well as to continue to have a serving heart like Christ. love you all!
